As Kerrygold is owned by a cooperative of Irish dairy farmers, we understand the value of working together as a group. The Kerrygold Community Awards have been set up to recognise and reward community projects in the UK, where groups of individuals have worked together to achieve something in their community. Maybe you are trying to improve your town by creating a clean park area where families can meet and kids can play, or perhaps you are trying to help the environment by setting up a weekly litter pick. We want to hear about all your projects.
Click here to see a selection of some of the entries we received last year – these are exactly the sort of projects that we think deserve to be recognised.
How do the awards work?
Step 1: Enter your community project
Throughout April, May, June and July, we will be looking for entrants to The Kerrygold Community Awards. If you have a project that you wish to enter, click here. From the beginning of June you will be able to print off your free marketing pack from our website, to help you raise awareness of your project in the local area. Competition will be tough, so make sure you give your project the best chance of winning by using the marketing materials to drum up as much support as you can.
Step 2: Raise money for the community fund
From the beginning of June until the end of August, each of our tubs and packs of butter will contain a unique number. All you have to do is buy special packs of Kerrygold butter, and enter the unique number from the pack on our website. By doing this, you’ll be giving 10p to our Community Awards fund. You can then vote for your favourite community project. The more people who enter their unique number on our website, the bigger the fund, and the more money we’ll give away!
But that’s not all…
We are also giving away 5 prizes of £2,000 to be won instantly. Just enter the unique number from special packs, vote for a project, and see if you’ve won – instantly!
Step 3: Choosing the winners
We will be sharing out the fund so the project in each region with the most votes will win an equal share of the fund (this makes 9 winners). As well as this, we have a judging panel, who will be selecting the ‘judges’ choice. This will be a project that hasn’t won in it’s region, but our judges feel stands out and is still worthy of being recognised and rewarded. In total, we will have 10 winners, who will equally share the prize fund.Get involved today by entering your community project!
