Off The Street is a group that works with young people from socially and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds who live on the interface in East Belfast. The main aim of the project is to raise their awareness of their own abilities to change and offer alternative lifestyle choices and aim to steer them away from rioting.
The group consists of approximately 50 young people between the ages of 15 and 23, who meet weekly to offer friendship and support.

Johnston Lambe, one of the Off the Street group leaders says:
"We are delighted the Off the Street group has been awarded a Kerrygold Community Award. We believe our project is a great example of how a group of people can come together to offer their support and guidance to one another and impact on young people’s lives in a positive way.”

With the help of the Kerrygold Community Awards cash prize, Off the Street hopes to be able to take the children on day trips out of the area which will help them “work more closely with the youths in the project.”
