RRR! will be an intergenerational music project to reinforce the community belonging feeling and help generation to understand each other better.
In partnership with ‘Age Concern’, we will set up a group that will create a song and a music video, on the theme ‘living in Cornwall’. They will then design the CD cover and organise a marketing campaign. The work will be sent to Radio Cornwall and Pirate FM, broadcasted on Youtube, Myspace and Facebook and performed during the event ‘Gig in The Garden’ next summer.
The project will offer inter generational sessions where:
. young people will teach the older ones how to edit songs on the Internet / how to be a DJ
. the elderly will share their skills and experience (‘knit your hoodie’ workshop / traditional Cornish songs and choir).
They will also organise special events, such as a dancing battle - old vs young people - and ‘intergenerational tea’. RRR! will facilitate skills transfer and inspire both generations to try new positive activities.
We want to offer a project that will be fun and enjoyable for all the audiences and hope it will have a long term and deep impact in the community as we noticed that the absence of communication between generations can often lead to misunderstanding and misjudgement.
We plan to involve 100 people on this project and run it for 3 months, but we hope the links created will enable us to continue inter generational work further.
