each year are asked to return. This year we have the two themes of 'Tudor Tales' and 'Bach's Coffeehouse'. To achieve this, we intend to broaden our horizons to work in a variety of venues carefully chosen to complement the different activities offered: dancing in the Guildhall, and workshops and coffee concerts in the Art House Café, in addition to St Swithun's Church, the Library, and the Friends Meeting House. We have other funding to pay artists fees, and are seeking funding from Kerrygold to cover venue hire, publicity, programme printing, refreshments and travel expenses.
Participatory activities includes the Early Music Band for Grade 4+ (with an opportunity to perform along professionals in concert). and Boomwhackers sessions for ages 8+, Nursery Rhymes from Old Times (including music games and improvisation) for ages 3-7 at the City Library, a range of keyboard workshops for those who no experience at all through to those with Grade + level (with a chance to perform), , a singing workshop entitled 'Pirate Madness' for age 8+, two demonstrations of instruments linked to concerts, and a ball where we have caller who teaches dances and a demonstration is given. Our website lists all the activities clearly but our aim is to make it fun for people to take part, learn and enjoy.
